EMERGENCY MEDICINE - EMT-Paramedics - Health
Participating in training and collaboration with Chinchiná's first responders in medicine and firefighting offers a truly unforgettable and invaluable experience for professionals in these fields. Due to the specialized nature of this opportunity, careful logistical planning is required, and a strong commitment to participation is essential.
To ensure the highest standards, a background check may be conducted to verify participants' qualifications, and a video interview with the volunteer site’s staff may also be requested. This ensures that everyone involved is well-prepared for a meaningful and impactful exchange. |

This shelter provides a unique opportunity for hands-on learning and training alongside dedicated staff every day. It serves as a home to 10–14 elderly individuals and operates a free medical clinic, supported by visiting Colombian volunteer nurses and doctors.
The region's hospital often relies on this shelter to care for terminally ill patients or elderly individuals who have no family to support them. The staff's relentless dedication and resourcefulness in providing compassionate care are truly inspiring. As a volunteer, you’ll not only contribute to this meaningful work but also have the chance to enhance your skills by attending specialized classes. |
DOG HAVEN CARE & VETERINARIAN ASSISTANT - Education, Animal Science
This volunteering and internship opportunity offers a rich, hands-on experience across two meaningful settings:
Location 1: Veterinary Clinic & Laboratory Shadow a team of five experienced veterinarians as they perform a wide range of tasks, including diagnostics, surgeries, post-surgery recovery care, vaccinations, and disease control procedures. Additionally, you’ll gain valuable insights into laboratory processes, including blood-based testing procedures, offering a comprehensive view of veterinary medicine. Location 2: Corazón Animal - Dogs and Cats Shelter This shelter provides care for dogs that are too old, sick, or disabled to be adopted without significant recovery interventions. Many of these animals have been abandoned due to their condition and will spend the rest of their lives in this volunteer-supported haven. With creativity, determination, and care, volunteers help these dogs enjoy healthier, happier lives. As a volunteer or intern, you will engage deeply in all aspects of shelter operations, from daily care to participating in a community-wide dog care awareness campaign. The shelter currently cares for 35–40 dogs, and your contributions will make a tangible impact on their quality of life. Participants will gain invaluable experience in animal shelter management while contributing to this heartfelt mission. Join us to make a difference while learning and growing in the fields of veterinary and animal care! |
